Answer:
Lightheadedness is a common and often unpleasant sensation of dizziness and/or feeling that one may be about to faint, which may be transient, recurrent, or occasionally chronic. In some cases the individual may feel as though his or her head is weightless. It can be simply an indication of a temporary shortage of blood or oxygen to the brain, low blood pressure, low blood sugar, or anemia. It can also be a symptom of many other conditions, some of them serious, such as heart disease, stroke, or bleeding.Treatment for light-headedness can include drinking plenty of water or other fluids (unless the lightheadedness is the result of water intoxication in which case drinking water is quite dangerous), eating something sugary, and lying down or sitting and reducing the elevation of the head relative to the body (for example by positioning the head between the knees).
try drinking more water. it could be dehyration.
are u on any medication or contarceptive pill that can make u lightheaded but so can dehidration drink lots of water hunny hope u feel better
if you skip breakfast, that won't help.
Aww hunni dont get upset, it can be a number of things.
you could be aenemic (have too little ironin your system) which they will treat with tablets
It could be your diet..are you getting enough calories, if your on a diet stop it an the headaches and dizziness may stop
It could just be stress or a phase your body is going through.when i was 16 i had headaches, dizziness, stiff neck and was sooo tired. the doctors did loads of tests for thyroid problems, diabetes, aneameaia, etc and found nothing wrong. I was told it was just a viral infection. It lasted for years when i got ovver tired or stress it would start again. I still get it every now and again and im 29 now!the more you worry the worse the symptoms will get. Have an early night, eat well and relax. If it was anything nasty im sure the doctor would have found something when you went first time.
good luck hunni and hope you feel better soon x
it's good you're going to see a specialist. it's probably nothing, many teenagers have those problems: you're growing, might be missing something in your diet, or maybe you're just under a lot of stress. don't worry about it much, but do see a doctor, maybe you'll get something to ease your pain, and it will make you feel better once you hear that nothing horrible is happening to you.
Hi, I used to get this when I was a teen too and at the time the problem was that I didn't eat enough or didn't have a good enough diet. Make sure you don't skip breakfasts, eat lots of fruit and vegetables and make sure you drink plenty of water. I hope you feel better soon and find that the problems isn't anything more sensibly. It might also be an idea to get your eye sight tested because bad eyesight can also cause headaches.Good luck!
Don't be scared, just eat healthy, drink regularly and try to relax. The more you worry the less chance you have of getting rid of the headaches which will make you more light headed! vicious circle! Also change your name from ugly girl!
Not eating enough can cause headaches and make you dizzy as your blood sugar crashes...Try to make sure you eat a good breakfast and drink plenty of water x Try not 2 worry 2 much as that will make your head hurt 2! x
Are you going through puberty? I sometimes feel light-headed before my period. I know that hormones could have an influece on your blood pressure.
I would suggest you do an extensive blood test to see if the levels of your hormones are OK...
Also, try not to panic, as this can cause more problems than you already have. There will most likely nothing to worry about!
x
Hugs
make sure you don't skip a meal. that can make you feel lightheaded. It can also cause your migraines. 20-50 who have migraine experience vertigo (not a nice feeling) I know how you feel. It can be annoying. Make sure you rest and drink plenty of water.
All the other answers have been very good and contained good advice but have you had your blood pressure checked? When I was your age I used to get faint and dizzy just from standing up or moving about quickly, I found out I simply had low blood pressure. I think you should ask to have it checked next time your at the doctors, take care %26 dont worry about it x
If you feel lightheaded, it can be caused by your neck - it's not serious but ask your mum to take you to an osteopath.Make sure she takes you to a very experienced osteopath, and ask them to be gentle. It should help, though.
Hi, no worries it could be a number of things and most likely something simple! :) Allergies - do ur eyes itch? water? can't breathe out ur nose? when allergies act up the congestion in your head can cause allergies and mess up your equilibrium (balance)
Stress - if you're stressing about school or life it can cause it
Eating breakfast - if you don't eat you will get headaches as well
Menstral - do you notice it anytime around your period or before it?
Eyesight - do you stay on the computer for long periods of time? have you ever had your eyes checked? maybe you need glasses.I have a lot of allergy problems (mold/grass) living in Midwest USA and get at least one sinus infection a year that causes severe pounding headaches, but if you're from UK I know goldenrod (forgot the equivalent name for it there) is a huge allergen and abundant.
it's awful, i am going through the same thing. i been geting light headed everyday now. if anybody else is experiencing this i cant stress enough, do not skip breakfast. it will make it twice as bad. and also drink plenty of fluids, and not only water. the body needs sugar drink orange juice and caffienated free sodas. and here is something else i recently discovered, penut butter crackers help!! (no not penut butter flavored crackers) the snack crackers with 2 crackers with a layer of penut butter. dont ask me why, but it helps you should try it...best of luck
