Lead Contamination?

Lead contamination?
What would be the steps a pregnant woman or a family with young children should take to reduce the chances of lead leaching into the drinking water, since lead contamination of water is a significant problem in many older buildings?
Answer:
use a carbon filter to make sure that the water your drinking is clean. Use like a Brita or something. the charcoal in those neutralizes the lead compound and will keep it in the filter instead of the water.
get one of the water purifiers that go right onto the tap=or buy bottled water ==in the long run the purifier is cheaper
Get a plumber and ask that they renew the water pipes from lead to copper or the new plastic type.
I'M ONLY 14 BUT I HAVE A SUGESSTION. MAYBE YOU COULD GO TO YOUR LOCAL HEALTH DEPARTMENT AND ASK THEM ABOUT CHECKING ABOUT LEAD CONTAMINATION. HOPE THAT I HELPED.
