Knife cut and stitches?

My husband just had a cut in his fingure, we dont have insurance so we cant go to the ER, there was white things coming out after cleaning it!! if any one can help us please do so. we went to walgreens pharmacy and the guy that works there said he is not sure whether or not it is big enough to need stitches so we just got Neosporin to prevent the infection. Please help!!
Answer:
the ER has to treat you regardless of whether or not you have insurance-it's the law.he will need stitches if he has any of the following-there is fatty tissue coming out of the cut (this could be the white things you were seeing)
-you can spread the cut apart more than 1/2 inch apart and can see inside
-it continues to bleed or took a long time to get to stop bleedinghospitals now have special superglue for skin called dermabond that they use on mild cuts to seal them closed. this stuff is great-it is reabsorbed by the skin once the cut has healed. if they use stitches-they will be in for 7 days before dissolving on their own once the cut is healed.it's really important to get the stitches if he really does need them. if he doesn't-the cut could not heal properly, creating a permanent and ugly scar. in addition-infection could get inside his finger and cause horrible problems and more medical care (which costs more money).wash the cut well with warm water and soap. wrap it well with a washcloth and report to the er if he has the above symptoms i listed.if not-then wash well with water and soap. apply a thin layer of neosporin and wrap the finger in gauze wrap (found at any drugstore). keep it clean and dry, changing the gauze at least twice a day.
he can take ibuprofen (motrin) for pain and swelling if not allergic. take 200-400mg every 6 hours as needed but no more than 1200mg in 24 hours
What are the white things that are coming out? Are they tendons maybe? You should go to a doctor. That's my advice.
i'm not sure about the white thing that coming out.. but if that just a cut that u think didn't effect nerves or tendon etc, just a cut , try get tumeric.. u can try fresh tumeric or just tumeric powder.. for fresh tumeric, just hit it and place on the wound then bandage it, if u use tumeric powder, mix the powder with drops of water before u place on the wound part.. u don't really need stitches using these tumeric, but it's really painful for the 1st time u try it. if u used it till the cut close back, there'll be no scar.try it..
